My Journey to a Green Sustainable Life.

The girl who silenced the world for 5 minutes (by leeks5229)

I’ve bought an electric rechargeable toothbrush to replace my old battery operated one.

I know rechargeable toothbrushes or even toothbrushes with rechargeable batteries better for the environment… but what can I do with my old battery operated toothebrush now? I have no idea where I can send this to be melted down or recycled or something!! I just don’t want to throw it out and then there’s the batteries ugggh… so much complication with recycling!!

Help?

Due to rising population, coupled with increasing demands by the agriculture and energy industries (often referred to as the water-food-energy nexus), global demand for clean water will outstrip supply by an average of 40 percent by 2030. While this reality poses grave risks to thousands of communities, it is also the driver of a daunting, and often confusing, economic dilemma which businesses must prepare for. It’s time for companies operating in the many dry regions around the world to equip themselves with the tools and mindset they need to navigate this new normal.

So basically I’m reading this fantastic book called “Ecoholic: Your guide to the most environmentally friendly information, products and services in Canada”

So far, thanks to this book, I have become disgusted with EVERY fucking personal care product in my bathroom fro mmy shampoo to my toothpaste to my feminine products and I literally do not wish to use any of it anymore. :) Did you know that LYE(caustic drain cleaner considered a POISON by the FDA) is in whitening toothpaste? There is ALUMINUM(linked to Alzheimer’s) in deodorant. Most personal care products have CARCINOGENS(things that cause cancer) in them. Even the fluoride in drinking water has been linked to increasing bone cancer and hip fractures in young boys.

And a whole slew of other shit like how the harsh chemicals we bathe in go down the drain and straight into the water systems and don’t even get cleaned up by water treatment plants. Ironically the products that are supposed to make you all clean and shiny and new make me feel DIRTY. n_n

This book also contains natural alternatives to our normal harmful products which I shall be looking into, like making your own toothpaste, which I will blog about!! :)

ok so a couple posts ago I said I was going to go on this big rant about an important environmental issue…. bu I got lazy and never bothered to even start it. I still too lazy so itm ay be posted at a later date when I am not being a lazy fuck.
Care for her. She’s slowly dying. </3
Ok, I’m not gonna start my rant right now b/c I have an appointment to get to… but you can expect a piece of my mind about something crucial yet overlooked from me later thsi evening!!

It shall be a surprise.

Life in 2050 (by beltzverlagsgruppe)

This doesn’t have a lot to do with environmentalism and trying to be greener, more like Futurism…. BUT IT’S PRETTY FRICKEN COOL IF YOU ASK ME.
